Missing Pieces, 2008

In the Summer of 2008 I took a class called "Psychogeographies: A Re-Wilderness Studio".  For two weeks we went on field trips to national parks, museums, and other tourist destinations around the city.  We then each had a third week to pull together a body of work consisting of at least five pieces about the experiences we had on our field trips.  My series, titled "Missing Pieces", focused on our trip to the zoo.  It asks the question, "What experiences are we denying these animals by keeping them in confinement?"  Student work from the class was then selected for a group exhibition that we curated in the Fall of 2008.  Above is a view of the installation of my work.
